WASHINGTON  --  Today, Rep. Artur Davis (AL-07) endorsed Chairman John Dingell in the race for the chairmanship of the Energy and Commerce Committee:

“I support Chairman Dingell’s reelection to chair the Energy and Commerce Committee and I will be urging my two new Democratic colleagues from Alabama to do the same.  Congressman Dingell recognizes that restoring our economy’s health is the critical task for our new President and that now is not the time to take risks with the future of our manufacturing sector. Chairman Dingell also realizes that the challenges of climate change are real and demand a pragmatic approach that is not rooted in ideology.

Alabama’s economy is vulnerable to the wrong energy policies being implemented. I believe that John Dingell has a better appreciation of Alabama’s interests and I look forward to working with him.”

Davis adds that he will be sending a formal letter to Congressmen-Elect Bobby Bright and Parker Griffith requesting that they join him in supporting Dingell’s candidacy.
