Sixty Years of Learning Through Listening®
Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic
(RFB&D), a national nonprofit, volunteer organization, has been
the leading accessible audiobook library for students with disabilities
such as visual impairment or dyslexia that make reading standard print
difficult or impossible for the last 60 years. With titles available
in every subject area and grade level, RFB&Ds digitally recorded
audio textbooks on CD and downloadable audio textbooks help students
challenged by the printed page.
Applications now available for
RFB&D members to apply for the
2009 National Achievement Awards totaling more than $50,000!

for Teachers, Administrators, Educators |
The www.learningthroughlistening.org
website has recently been updated with new lesson plans, graphic
organizers, listening activities, and video resources to assist
teachers in the successful implementation of our Learning Through
Listening Program.
In addition, we've added a monthly feature with
new lesson plans related to our popular Librarian's
Choice lists. In honor of the anniversary of the opening
of Ellis Island, this January we are featuring lesson plans on
books from our audiobook collection that focus on immigration
and immigrants from many countries, including Poland,
China, Sweden, Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, the Republic of Sudan,
and Saudi Arabia.
