BOSTON – Senator John Kerry today congratulated two Massachusetts educators for winning national awards for teaching.

Anne Clark who teaches English at the Boston Arts Academy and Matthew Dugan, who teaches science at Madison Park Technical High School in Boston, are both recipients of the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award.

“Anne Clark and Matthew Dugan’s excellence in the classroom and commitment to their students is extraordinary. Day in and day out they find new and exciting ways to make learning fun,” said Senator Kerry. “On behalf of all of Massachusetts, I thank them for their dedication to our youth and to the ensuring the future of state.”

Both Clark and Dugan will receive $25,000 bonuses along with the award. They are just two of 80 educators across the nation who are receiving the award.

The Milken Family Foundation National Educator Awards program provides public recognition and financial rewards to elementary and secondary schoolteachers, principals and other education professionals who are furthering excellence in education.

More than over 2,300 educators across the country have been recognized since the Award’s inception.
