The Coast Guard Academy annually sponsors two faculty members so that they can pursue their research through the summer intersession. This program is available to all faculty at the Academy - civilian, permanent military and rotating military. It is highly competitive and provides the faculty an opportunity for focused effort on their research.

The selection is based on proposals submitted by the faculty to the Center for Advanced Studies in the preceding fall semester.
