Message from the President

Dear Colleagues:

Albany State University (ASU) is preparing for the reaffirmation of its accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and schools (SACS) and its Commission on Colleges (COC).  The official visit to our ASU campus by SACS will occur in early 2008.  To ensure that our self study process addresses all of the relevant areas of institutional effectiveness and continuous quality improvement as identified by SACS in its new accreditation process, ASU commenced its reaffirmation planning process in the Fall of 2004. 

ASU has performed well in many areas important to SACS and to us as an institution. We are prepared and eager to tell our story and demonstrate, in our self study and through other supporting documents, our institutional effectiveness and continuous quality improvement strategies in accordance with SACS' principles of accreditation.

On this web site, you will find a considerable amount of information about ASU. While much of the information you may review on our web site is provided in a format that protects the privacy rights of individual students, as it should, I am convinced that you will gain a greater appreciation for the work that we have done here at our institution in support of student learning. 

In order to make our SACS-related web site more robust and helpful, please feel free to provide us with your constructive suggestions for its continuous quality improvement.
