On Monday, Democrats continue efforts to bring the President's Iraq war policy to a debate on the Senate floor.

On Tuesday, S. 4, the Improving America's Security by Implementing Unfinished Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007, is scheduled for a final vote.

On Tuesday morning, I meet with Knesset member Maj. General (ret.) Matan Vilnai to discuss the current situation in the Middle East.

Later Tuesday morning, representatives from the Hawaii Fire Fighters' Association will stop by my office to discuss their legislative agenda.

Gil Janklowicz of Bodies in Motion fame will also visit my office on Tuesday. Gil is being inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame this month in Chicago.

Tuesday afternoon, my Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management will hold a hearing on United States efforts to secure radiological materials overseas. I believe we are not doing enough to ensure the security of radiological materials in other countries which can be used in creating dirty bombs.

Wednesday morning, the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee holds a hearing on the Threat of Islamic Radicalism to the Homeland.

Wednesday afternoon, I have a series of meetings with Hawaii citizens in DC attending national conferences for their respective organizations, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the National Automobile Dealers Association, and the America Bankers Association.

On Thursday morning, the Armed Services Committee will get a closed door briefing on Iraq from Defense Secretary Robert Gates and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Peter Pace.

Thursday afternoon, I will meet with General Motors Vice President for Government Relations Ken Cole to talk about GM's plans to make more fuel efficient vehicles.

I also have a series of meetings with representatives from Hawaii community health clinics to discuss their activities and programs.

Friday morning, I meet with Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne to discuss issues facing the Air Force.
