Laboratories

The WSTF Laboratories Office has a unique and comprehensive set of test capabilities oriented toward evaluating material and component behaviors in hazardous environments. Throughout our five core areas of expertise, nearly 100 projects are in process at any time. We routinely perform work such as materials properties determination, materials compatibility and toxicity analyses, detonation studies, flight article outgassing characterization, systems analysis, burn-resistant alloy development, orbital debris impact simulation testing, propellant characterization, and fluid systems health and performance assessments. Many other highly specialized and non-routine evaluations are constantly being developed and performed. Capabilities range from laboratory testing of a single material, to component validation testing in the in-use environment, to field testing of full-system configurations.

    Labs Aerial

We perform testing and evaluation designed to better understand, improve, and verify the systems, capabilities, and materials used in space flight. Our end product is safety during human space missions.
