Robert P. Casey Jr.
Internships
Senator Casey offers internships to students during the summer, fall, and spring semesters. Interns will gain first-hand knowledge of the legislative process and of the daily operations of a Senate office by working with constituents and staff on issues affecting Pennsylvania. While we welcome all applicants, preference will be given to candidates with a Pennsylvania background.
Senator Casey also offers two paid internships to qualifying Pennsylvania students.
The Leon H. Sullivan Internship, based in Senator Casey's Washington, DC office, provides an opportunity for undergraduate university students from Pennsylvania to gain access and exposure to the activities of the United States Senate and also work to further Leon Sullivan's vision for a better America and global community. The Leon Sullivan internship is available year-round. Our office will select one candidate for the fall semester, the spring semester, the early summer and the late summer. The summer internships are full-time positions. Click here for a biography of Leon H. Sullivan.
The A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. internship is open to students enrolled in law school, or planning to enroll in law school, who are residents of Pennsylvania. Each summer, Senator Casey will select one applicant to serve as a paid intern for six weeks in his Washington, DC office. The internship will provide the opportunity to participate in the legislative process while working to further the cause of equal justice.
Applications for the Leon H. Sullivan internship in the spring semester are due 5:00 PM, EST on November 1, 2008. Please check back for our application for the A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr. internship, which will be offered next in the summer of 2009.
