Trip Report

"Our nation continues to face serious and growing challenges in both Iraq and Afghanistan. At this critical juncture, I am eager to express my gratitude to our troops on the ground, many from New York, who continue to serve and sacrifice, performing magnificently and bravely."

-- Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton

Senators Bayh and Clinton, Congressman McHugh Visit Iraq and Afghanistan

Our Congressional delegation trip provided me with an invaluable opportunity to evaluate the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan first hand. As I take these experiences back to my work in the Senate, my thoughts will also remain with the service members who we met on this trip, from the men and women in uniform fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan to the wounded servicemembers we saw in Landstuhl. As Americans, we should be proud of these brave young men and women and continue to offer them our full support. I am sure that my work on the Senate Armed Services Committee and in the Senate more generally will reflect the experiences that I had on this Congressional delegation.
