Since signing the Army Family Covenant here Oct. 24, 2007, the Fort Rucker command has rededicated itself to building areas that mean the most to families, enhancing their strength and resilience.
We take great pride in the Army Aviation Warfighting Center. It's an excellent place to live and work, and we've received our fair share of Installation of Excellence awards.
There's a good deal of old-fashioned Southern hospitality on post as well as in the friendly neighboring communities. Whether you come for a visit or an assignment, be sure to take advantage of the many activities and services available here. Enjoy your stay.

Fort Rucker communities sign Army Community Covenant
FORT RUCKER, Ala. -- Dignitaries, military and community leaders gathered to commemorate the signing of the Army Community Covenant here May 29.
Mayors from 10 Wiregrass area cities joined Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations and Environment, Keith Eastin; Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Mack Dove; President of the post Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program, Cpl. Jason Hoekema; Fort Rucker Elementary School sixth-grade student council members; and Aviation Center Commander Maj. Gen. Virgil L. Packett II in signing the historic document. The Fort Rucker covenant signing formalized the patriotic spirit of support that has surrounded Fort Rucker for generations.
The Army Community Covenant is designed to develop and foster effective state and community partnerships with the Army to sustain and improve the quality of life for Soldiers and their Families, both at their current duty stations and as they transfer to other states. More | Video
