Statement from Sen. Murray on DoJ Suit Against Olympic Pipeline
In response to the announcement of a Justice Department lawsuit against Olympic Pipeline, Sen. Murray issued the following statement:

"While we can never replace the three innocent lives lost in Bellingham nearly three years ago, every measure must be taken to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again.
It is important for the Justice Department to hold Olympic accountable for its actions, but this lawsuit does not replace the need for new legislation to improve pipeline safety. I am grateful for the extraordinary and bipartisan efforts of Congressman Rick Larsen who has successfully pushed pipeline safety legislation in the House.
I remain hopeful that the full House of Representatives will now approve Congressman Larsen's bill, which will strengthen pipeline safety and protect communities near pipelines."
