David Magidson, National Commander of the Jewish War Veterans, reads the inscription from a plaque he presented to Senator Murray for her leadership on veterans issues. The "Medal of Merit" honors Murray "for her strong advocacy on behalf of those who served in the United States Armed Forces by her recognizing our nation’s obligations to our veterans."

The JWV is the oldest, continuously-active national veterans organization in the United States.

"We are very proud to honor someone who has honored us and all veterans," Magidson said.
