Volunteer Board Positions

Thank you for your interest in Erie County government and the opportunity to serve on a local volunteer board dealing with matters important to our community. The office of Erie County Executive has the power to appoint nearly 400 volunteer board positions. Below you will find a detailed description of each board and its mission. Board terms are varied and staggered.

Please follow the procedure below to apply for board positions you are interested in. Each application can be submitted electronically via this website, or your application can be mailed to:

Application Process:

  1. Submit a resume and provide four references, in confidence, to the County Executive's Office.
  2. Provide a list of all other boards on which you currently serve.
  3. Submit a formal "Intentions Statement" specifically outlining why you are interested in the board position being applied for and what you intend to accomplish if selected for this appointment.

There is no formal deadline for applications, as board position terms expire on a rolling basis. Applications will be kept on file as positions openings become available.
