For Immediate Release:
Thursday, June 3, 2004

Senator Murray meets with a delegation of Hispanic pastors and church leaders from Washington state. The delegation is in Washington, D.C. to attend the National Hispanic Prayer this week. Among the issues they discussed with Senator Murray were immigration reform and the role of the church in offering social services to the Hispanic communities they serve. Washington state has one of the nation’s most rapidly growing Hispanic communities, and Senator Murray has been a strong supporter of legislation, such as the DREAM Act, that creates greater opportunity for Latinos and other minorities in Washington state – and throughout the nation.
