2004 National Energy Modeling System/Annual Energy Outlook Conference

The Energy Information Administration will host its twelfth annual National Energy Modeling System/Annual Energy Outlook Conference on March 23, 2004, at the Renaissance Hotel, 999 Ninth Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20001, near the Gallery Place Metro station.

The conference includes speakers and attendees from Federal and State governments, private industry, and trade associations, discussing energy issues related to EIA’s Annual Energy Outlook 2004, which forecasts energy supply demand and prices out to 2025, and the National Energy Modeling System used to generate the forecasts.

Topics covered include end-use energy efficiency, industrial response to higher natural gas prices, lower-48 natural gas production and prices, expected trends in Canadian natural gas imports, the expanding role of LNG, future electric generation capacity needs, electricity transmission issues, electricity reliability, and renewable energy.  The conference program and a complete list of the speakers is available at: www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/aeo/conf/conf_program.html.

Handouts provided in advance by the conference speakers will be posted online by March 9, 2004, at www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/aeo/conf/handouts.html in lieu of being provided at the conference.
