U.S. ENERGY INFORMATION ADMINISTRATION
EIA Publishes Consumer Brochure on Residential Heating Oil Prices The Energy Information Administration (EIA) has published a new brochure that will be of interest to the general public, particularly those who use home heating oil. The brochure, Residential Heating Oil Prices: What Consumers Should Know explains, in laymen's terms, a breakdown of the cost of a gallon of heating oil, and the factors that cause heating oil prices to fluctuate and sometimes change dramatically in a short period of time. This brochure is the last in a series of three price brochures on winter heating fuels that EIA has recently published. Consumer brochures on propane prices and residential natural gas prices were released in October and November, respectively. Printed copies of the heating oil prices brochure will be available from EIA's National Energy Information Center by December 15. In the meantime, the brochure is available electronically on EIA's website at: http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/analysis_publications/heating_brochure/heatbro.htm
