U.S. ENERGY INFORMATION ADMINISTRATION NOTE TO EDITORS: New EIA WebsiteOn Monday, October 16, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) will launch its redesigned website (www.eia.doe.gov), making energy information even easier to find. The new design is organized around the different ways people think about energy by grouping our information in different logical pathways. The new home page has energy "channels," which allow you to look for energy information by fuel, by geography, by price, or by sector, just to name a few choices. These channels represent themes that customers most frequently follow in searching for energy information. Each channel has a drop-down menu offering more specific choices. The channels intersect in content: If you are looking for electricity prices in Maryland, for example, you could follow the price channel, the geography channel, or the fuels channel. The multi-channel approach offers several paths to the same answer, so you don't have to be overly concerned about finding the one "right" path. The new design provides easier access to EIA publications, hot topics, and our most popular reports. Also, we will continue offering the successful Google search engine. Each channel also provides links to EIA subject experts, and the phone number (202/586-8800) and email address (infoctr@eia.doe.gov) of our Information Center. If you have any questions or comments about the new design, please call or email us.
