Senator Murray is presented with the 2004 Distinguished Community Health Superhero Award for her support of Community and Migrant Health Centers by Linda McVeigh, executive director of the National Association of Community Health Centers. Murray met with representatives of Washington health centers including Puget Sound Health Services, Columbia Basin Health Association, International Health Services, and the community health centers in Yakima, King County, and Spokane.
Community health centers provide care for nearly 15 million uninsured and medically underserved Americans.
