Senator Murray met with Marcia Jacobs of Sumner, Washington. Last year, Ms. Jacobs' four year old daughter, Anjuli, lost her courageous battle with a brain tumor. To draw attention to this disease, on May 6, 2002, Ms. Jacobs created the National Brain Tumor Victims Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The memorial displayed the hats of more than 850 victims of brain tumors on the Capitol Grounds. Brain tumors are the leading disease cause of death for children in the U.S. There is no cure.
