Offices of Senator Inhofe and Representatives Cole, Lucas and Fallin to hold Special Veterans Information Meeting in Midwest City

WASHINGTON, DC - An informational meeting coordinated by the offices of Senator Inhofe and Representatives Cole, Lucas and Fallin is being held for all military veterans and surviving spouses on Monday, November 17, 2008 in Midwest City. Hosted by Rose State College's Professional Training and Education Center, the purpose of the meeting is to bring subject matter experts from both the federal and state government directly to the veterans.

Handicapped accessible entrance and parking are located on the south side of the center.
Sponsors are VFW Posts 9969 (Del City) and 1857 (OKC) along with the assistance of Post 8706 (Moore).
Over the past year, Senator Jim Inhofe, members of the congressional delegation, and the Oklahoma Department of Veterans of Foreign Wars have coordinated several similar meetings throughout Oklahoma. The meetings have been met with overwhelming success drawing large numbers and assisting veterans on a variety of issues.
These informational meetings provide veterans a unique opportunity to receive information and updates on benefit programs, learn about federal and state legislative affecting veterans and their surviving spouses, and to meet with case workers and specific agencies to discuss their individual needs.
The meeting will include presentations on benefits and eligibility by the staff of the Veterans Benefits Administration Regional Office in Muskogee. Representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, Oklahoma National Guard Family Services, Veterans Center, Oklahoma City VAMC - Muskogee and Workforce Oklahoma will also attend to discuss local veterans programs.
Senator Inhofe's office as well as the offices of Representatives Cole, Lucas, and Fallin will answer questions, and provide case workers available to assist veterans with individual issues. State and local elected officials have also been invited to attend to enable veterans to share their concerns with their local leaders.
