Senate Resolution 161
In 1995 the Senate adopted Senate Resolution 161 (104th Congress, 1st session) introduced by Mississippi Senator Thad Cochran. The resolution specified that the desk once used by Senator Jefferson Davis in the Senate Chamber would henceforth be assigned to the senior senator from Mississippi.
