Q: Why am I asked to enter a validation code in order to send an e-mail?

A: Many people question why our office does not make a public email address available for constituents to contact us via, why we direct visitors to our web form, and why we utilize a CAPTCHA to validate our web form submissions. The answer is: Texas is the second largest state in the country by population, and Senator Cornyn's office is third on the list of most emailed and spammed offices in Congress. Without implementing a highly structured correspondence system, it would simply be impossible for us to respond to all but a fraction of the email sent to our offices. We do understand that this system has limitations and drawbacks, and we are always looking at new ways to communicate with Texans more effectively and efficiently.
