Mount Vernon

Located 14 miles south of D.C., Mount Vernon was George Washington's home for more than 45 years.  Over that time, Washington carefully planned the buildings and landscape of his home, a site that has been preserved thanks to the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association.

Mount Vernon offers a one-hour congressional garden tour every day at 8:45 am.  There is an admittance fee to enter Mount Vernon. Following the garden tour, you may tour the rest of the grounds and the house.
