Overtime

I am also a strong supporter of overtime protections for workers. On average, overtime payments account for 25 percent of the paychecks of people who earn overtime and I was disappointed when the Bush Administration tried to undermine these critical protections. I am proud to be a co-sponsor of the Fair Wage, Competition, and Investment Act of 2005, which would not only protect overtime for millions of Americans whose overtime pay has been endangered by Bush Adminisration regulations, but expands the group of workers who will receive overtime by increasing the minimum salary level for the exemption of certain workers from the overtime compensation requirements.
