Senator Murray joins a class of culinary students at the North Olympic Peninsula Skill Center. Senator Murray visited the Center to meet with young people in the area that are working to get the skills needed to fill local family-wage jobs. During Senator Murray’s visit she discussed major legislation that she has introduced to help students throughout Washington state get the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the 21st century economy. Senator Murray’s bill, the Promoting Innovations to 21st Century Careers Act, provides incentives for communities, employers, and schools to work together and identify ways to open up “career pathways” for our young people.
