Xavier Nixon is a 2009 U.S. Army All-American Player of the Year Finalist and will participate in the All-American Bowl Jan. 3. He played as an offensive lineman at Jack Britt High, Fayetteville, N.C. His mother, Master Sgt. Fotini Nixon, is a 23-year Army veteran and is currently serving with the XXVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg. N.C. Sgt. Gabriel Del Fierro's murals include a wall in Iraq. The mural is a favorite backdrop for entertainers who perform for troops at Contingency Operating Base Speicher in Tikrit. Mosquitoes can be a nuisance or a serious health risk for Joint Task Force Guantanamo in Cuba. Avoiding the risk of the diseases they carry is the task of the Joint Detention Group's preventive medicine office. The office, made up of four 525th Military Police Battalion Soldiers, weekly tracks the
mosquito population to make sure they aren't carrying any dangerous illness.
