Ocean Drilling Program and Deep Sea Drilling Project Permanent Archives

Web Page: http://iodp.tamu.edu/curation/

Introduction

The Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) curates all cores obtained by the ODP and the Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP). The ODP curation facilities are responsible for sample and data archiving and dissemination. This includes storing, archiving, and disseminating cores and other scientific data collected during the course of the program.

Facilities

Cores are maintained at three repositories in the US on the East, West, and Gulf coasts, located at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and ODP/Texas A&M University (TAMU), respectively. Cores are also maintained in a repository in Bremen, Germany. Links to all repository web sites are available from the main ODP curation web site above.

Sample Collection

The ODP permanent archives include samples from Legs 100-210 of the ODP. The DSDP permanent archives contain samples from Legs 1-96 of the DSDP.
