Birmingham Official to Speak at ASU's
Annual MLK Convocation
ASU will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation Thursday, Jan. 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the ASU Acadome. Cedric D. Sparks Sr., executive director of the Division of Youth Services for the City of Birmingham Mayor's Office, will deliver the keynote address.

Alumnus' New Book Helps Prescribe Life's Music
 ASU alumnus Byron L. Smith has penned a new book that explores how music often can serve as a prescription for life's adversities. The book, Prescription Music, was inspired by Smith's own use of music to get over difficult times.

ASU Band to Participate in MLK Battle of the Bands
 ASU's Mighty Marching Hornets Band has been selected to participate in the 24th annual National Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice Battle of the Bands and Drum Major Extravaganza on Jan. 18 in St. Petersburg, Fla. The event begins at 6 p.m. EST in Tropicana Field Dome Stadium -MORE-
