Victory and Vindication: Investigation Proves Tanker Contract Wrongly Awarded

Dear Friend:

On Wednesday, the GAO sustained Boeing's protest of the tanker contract and confirmed what we have been saying for months – the Air Force’s decision was fundamentally flawed.

I'm not surprised that the GAO identified significant errors in the selection process and suggested that it should be re-competed.  The Air Force bought a tanker that doesn't meet their needs and does not consider key factors like the American workforce, illegal subsidies, and maintaining our military security.

Your help has been critical in this effort. By signing up to join the fight, you have helped make the case that the Pentagon has been wrong from the start. On Wednesday, your concerns and the concerns of many members of Congress were vindicated by the GAO's decision.

While I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support, I also want to point out that there is still work to be done. In the coming days and weeks, the Air Force will respond to the GAO's findings, and I will again need your help to show the Air Force that the GAO was right and that this contract should be re-competed.

Please look for more updates from me as we move forward in our effort to do what's right for America's economy, military and workers.

Thank you,

Patty
