Pryor to Discuss Education, Tour McKee Food Facility

WASHINGTON D.C. – Senator Mark Pryor today said he is looking forward to meeting with community leaders, students and families during his travels throughout Arkansas next week.
 
On Monday, October 20th at noon, Pryor will be the keynote speaker at the Arkansas’ Independent Colleges & Universities 54th annual meeting. He will discuss the importance of higher education and his support of federal financial aid programs. Arkansas is home to eleven independent colleges and universities. This luncheon will take place at University of the Ozarks, 415 North College Avenue in Clarksville, AR. 
 
At 2:30 pm, Pryor will discuss policy and politics with students in his dad’s political science class at the University of Arkansas. This event will take place in the Dean’s Conference Room, Old Main in Fayetteville, AR.
 
At 4:30 pm, Pryor will tour the University of Arkansas Special Collections, including the Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History. The Pryor Center’s mission is to document the rich cultural heritage of Arkansans through oral and photographic resources. The tour will begin on the 4th floor of Mullins Library, 365 North McIlroy Avenue in Fayetteville, AR.
 
On Tuesday, October 21st at 10 am CT, Pryor will recognize Springdale High School for being the recipient of a National Math and Science Initiative grant. These funds are a part of an innovative effort to improve math and science education in the U.S.  During the school assembly, Senator Pryor and Congressman Boozman will make brief remarks. This event will take place at Springdale High School, 1103 West Emma Avenue in Springdale, AR.
 
At 11 am CT, Pryor will tour the McKee Foods facility. He will meet with plant leadership and employees to discuss the state of the company and the economy. This event will take place at 105 McKee Drive in Gentry, AR.
 
At 12:30 pm CT,Pryor will recognize the importance of Heat Stroke Awareness Month at a luncheon hosted by Kendrick Fincher Memorial Foundation. Congressman Boozman and Mayor Steve Womack will also provide remarks. This event will take place at the Embassy Suites, 3303 Pinnacle Hills Parkway in Rogers, AR
