Alexander Says Tom Anderson Will Be a Fair-Minded, Experienced Federal Judge for West Tennessee
Says Bipartisan Support for New Federal Judge Reflects His Integrity |

August 15th, 2008 - Memphis, Tenn. - U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement after attending the Investiture Ceremony for Tom Anderson, U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Tennessee:
“Tom Anderson is an especially worthy choice for the federal bench because he had already served as a judge, having been selected as a U.S. Magistrate Judge in 2003,” Alexander said. “He has extensive experience trying cases from his nearly 20 years in private practice, and his nomination also enjoyed strong support from Tennessee Democrats. There is a deep reservoir of goodwill for Judge Anderson in the state, and it reflects the fact that he is experienced, fair-minded and respected.”
Judge Anderson was confirmed by the Senate on April 10th by voice vote. He succeeds U.S. District Judge James D. Todd, who has taken senior status.
