WTVG -- Coordinators are hoping it will help reduce gang activity, teach job skills, beautify the neighborhood and increase the availability of fresh produce.
There's a new approach to reducing crime in north Toledo. The Greenhouse Project cut the ribbon on its new facility this afternoon on the back grounds of the Connecting Point on Cherry Street.
The project is the result of a Department of Justice Weed and Seed grant. Over 30 north Toledo kids built the greenhouse. Coordinators are hoping it will help reduce gang activity, teach job skills, beautify the neighborhood and increase the availability of fresh produce. The greenhouse took the kids about 3 weeks to build.
