Washington, DC
Monday, December 15, 2008
U.S. Senator Jim Bunning today announced that the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded $300,000 in investment funds to Goodwill Industries of Kentucky for a training and collection facility in Columbia.
"With the tough economic times throughout the Commonwealth, this $300,000 investment by EDA will create 33 jobs for the good people of Columbia." said Bunning. "The Goodwill facility will not only create jobs, but it will serve as a job training and counseling center that will benefit the entire community."
This EDA investment funds construction of a Goodwill Industries of Kentucky training and collection center facility in the city of Columbia. The center will provide counseling, on-the-job training and employment for people with disabilities, benefitting them and their community.
