Services for Nevadans
Resources For Former Yucca Mountain Project Employees
I have consistently succeeded in reducing Yucca Mountain's budget, which is one of the reasons why Nevadans have been able to keep the nuclear waste dump out of our state. However, I am concerned about the Nevadans who have and will lose their jobs as the Yucca Mountain Project fades away into history. I want to ensure that they have opportunities to find new good-paying jobs in our great state. I have put together this list of resources to help Yucca Mountain Project employees find new jobs and apply for assistance as they transition into new careers.

Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees
The Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees program provides benefits for eligible unemployed former civilian Federal employees. The program is administered by Nevada as an agent of the Federal government.

Unemployment Compensation for Non-Federal Employees

Non-Federal Yucca Mountain employees may also be eligible for unemployment compensation through Nevada’s Unemployment Insurance program.
