Information on Social Security Administration
SOCIAL   SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
  Phone: (800) 772-1213

My staff and I can help you address any concerns you may have regarding   Social Security benefits (retirement, disability, survivors', etc.) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

If you would like me to check the status of your disability claim, please indicate the stage of your disability claim (i.e., initial application, reconsideration, appeal for hearing, or Appeals Council) on my privacy   release form and forward it to one of my nearest state   offices.

The process of waiting for a hearing before an administrative law judge   can be long. Once I contact the Office of Hearings and Appeals on your behalf, officials there will keep me updated on the status of your claim until a decision has been reached.

Please note that the rules of the Senate Ethics Committee prohibit United States Senators from becoming involved in the judicial process. If you are having legal problems, you may wish to contact an attorney for assistance.
