News and Announcements
AEP proposes building the first 765-kilovolt (kV) extra-high voltage transmission lines to connect major wind developments in the Dakotas and surrounding states to the existing 765-kV network that ends near Chicago.
The expected return-to-service timeline ranges from the second half of 2009, if repair is successful, to 2010 if the rotors must be replaced before operation.
G.I. Jobs magazine has named AEP one of the nation’s 50 most “military-friendly” employers for the sixth consecutive year. AEP is among only seven companies that have appeared on the publication’s top-50 list each year since it was introduced in 2003.
