Children Learning
Education
This is our exciting hands-on room for children and the young at heart.
Students from throughout the state must learn how to access, interpret, and analyze information to succeed in the increasingly complex, high-tech world of the 21st century.
Museum instructors encourage participants to explore sensory-rich museum exhibits in ways that promote keen observation and independent thinking in their own formation of comparisons and conclusions. All classes and tours relate to the learning standards and nearly all include hands-on artifacts, replicas and reproductions.
The Museum Education Institute offers teachers the opportunity to learn and to work with staff in our research and collections.
Teacher's guides and exhibition texts for the classroom.
We offer an award winning after school program. The Museum Club is for children ages 8-13 and the Discovery Club is for youth ages 14-18. For more information, please contact the Director of Youth Services at 518-486-1420.
