Congressman will Tour Impacted Areas at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 14

Washington, Jun 13 -

U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Holland, has requested attention from the state to the damage caused by severe weather in Mason, Lake and Manistee counties and will tour impacted areas on starting at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 14.

“I know that you share my concerns regarding those struggling to recover from the severe weather Michigan has recently experienced and will do everything possible to get Michigan the assistance that it needs,” Hoekstra wrote to Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm. “Specifically, I request that you direct state emergency management attention to Mason, Lake and Manistee counties.”

Hoekstra noted that emergency management personnel are working around the clock in regions throughout the state. He also notified Region V of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to make it aware of the local situation.

“The weather has severely impacted the lives and property of many residents in Mason, Lake and Manistee counties,” Hoekstra said. “My thoughts are with everyone currently enduring hardships, and I hope that their lives return to normal as soon as possible.”
