Capitol Tours
For information on accommodations and things
to do in Washington, visit
the DC Visitor and Convention Center site.
Further, we can provide you with gallery passes so that you
may watch the proceedings of the United States Senate and/or
the House of Representatives.
Not all federal buildings are available to tour. However with
advance notice and on a limited basis we can request tickets
to the Capitol, Library of Congress, Kennedy Center, Bureau
of Engraving and Printing, and the U.S. Supreme Court. It
is helpful to give us as much notice on these tours as possible.
Wisconsinites are invited to complete our tour
request form in advance of any planned visits to Washington,
DC.
The following is general visitor information for some of the
most popular sites in the Washington D.C. area:
Tourism Information
The
White House
All tour requests must be submitted to the White House at
least one month in advance through a congressional office.
You may send your request to my office and a member of my
staff will submit the request to the White House. Acceptance
is on a first-come, first-serve basis to be determined by
the White House tour office. Due to the volume of requests,
and the White House's limitation of 10 or more people per
tour, it's likely requests will be denied even if submitted
in a timely manner. Security requires that visitors provide
their full name, Social Security number and date of birth.
All tours are subject to change per White House notification.
