BOSTON – Senator John Kerry will view a demonstration and address employees at Liberating Technologies, Inc, a manufacturing and distributing company of prosthetic devices.

Liberating Technologies, Inc. manufactures and distributes state-of-the-art prosthetic devices. The company specializes in upper-limb components for both adults and children.

The joint venture between Liberating Technologies, Inc. and Foster-Miller, Inc of Waltham recently received $1.6 million in federal funds for the production of advanced lower limb prostheses for battlefield amputees. With dramatic improvements in personal protective equipment for soldiers, there has been a dramatic decrease in the number of battlefield fatalities. However, an increasing number of returning casualties are amputees. 85% of all amputees are lower limb cases.
