Electricity Data for the International Energy Annual 2006 (12/23/2008)
Excel spreadsheets with time series data for the years 1980-2006 on: (1) net consumption and generation of hydroelectric, nuclear, and geothermal, solar, wind, and wood and waste electric power in both billion kilowatthours and British thermal units (Btu); (2) net conventional thermal electricity generation, total net electricity generation, and total net electricity consumption in billion kilowatthours; (3) electricity imports and exports in both billion kilowatthours and Btu; and (4) gross heat content of hydroelectric power, nuclear electric power, and geothermal electric power, solar and wood and waste electric power, and wind electric power. Also included are Excel spreadsheets with time series data for January 1, 1980-January 1, 2006 on electricity installed capacity by type. Important Notes: (1) The Energy Information Administration reviews its databases each year and important revisions are made to the time series data of individual countries during this review. Therefore, data in the International Energy Annual 2006 may have been substantially revised relative to previous editions. (2) In this edition, the name of East Timor has been changed to Timor-Leste (East Timor). (3) Electricity data for more recent periods for some countries are available in the Electricity section of our International Page.)

Market Assessment of Upcoming Planned Refinery Outages (12/23/2008)
This report reviews planned U.S. refinery outages from December 2008 though March 2009 in order to identify any regions where outages might create enough supply pressure to impact prices significantly.

Monthly Energy Review (12/19/2008)
EIA's primary report of recent energy statistics: total energy production, consumption, and trade; energy prices; overviews of petroleum, natural gas, coal, electricity, nuclear energy, renewable energy, and international petroleum; and data unit conversions. See What's New in the Monthly Energy Review for a record of changes. In the first three quarters of 2008, U.S. net imports of energy accounted for 25.8 percent of U.S. total energy consumption, down from 29.3 percent for the same period a year ago and 30.3 percent for the same period two years ago.

Petroleum Data for the International Energy Annual 2006 (12/19/2008)
Excel spreadsheets with detailed country-level data for 2005 on petroleum supply and disposition, output of refined petroleum products, imports of refined petroleum products, exports of refined petroleum products, and apparent consumption of refined petroleum products, as well as crude oil refining capacity by process for January 1, 2007. Also included are Excel spreadsheets with time series data for the years 1980-2006 on: (1) petroleum consumption, crude oil production and natural gas plant liquids production, in both thousand barrels per day and British thermal units; (2) world oil supply from the production of other liquids in thousand barrels per day; (3) world oil supply from refinery processing gain in thousand barrels per day; (4) world production of crude oil, natural gas plant liquids, and other liquids in thousand barrels per day; (5) world production of crude oil, natural gas plant liquids, and other liquids, and refinery processing gain in thousand barrels per day; (6) gross heat content of crude oil and natural gas plant liquids in thousand Btu per barrel; and (7) barrels of crude oil per metric ton. (Data on carbon dioxide emissions from the consumption of petroleum were released on December 8.) Important Notes: (1) The Energy Information Administration reviews its databases each year and important revisions are made to the time series data of individual countries during this review. Therefore, data in the International Energy Annual 2006 may have been substantially revised relative to previous editions. (2) In this edition, the name of East Timor has been changed to Timor-Leste (East Timor). (3) Petroleum data for more recent periods for most countries are available in the Petroleum section of our International Page.)

EIA to Restore 10:30 AM Release Time for Weekly Petroleum and Natural Gas Data (12/15/2008)
EIA will move the standard release time of the Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) and the Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report (WNGSR) back to the original time of 10:30 a.m. (Eastern Time) in early January. The change is effective beginning with the WPSR release on Wednesday, January 7, and with the WNGSR release on Thursday January 8.

The day and time at which the weekly reports are released will continue to vary from the standard practice during certain weeks that include a Federal holiday. The official schedule with dates and times for those releases are available for the WPSR at http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/fwd/wpsrsch.html and for the WNGSR at http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/natural_gas/ngs/schedule.html.
