Education

As a former Nevada University and Community College Regent for 8 years, promoting a quality education has been a life long mission for me. Not much has changed since coming to Congress. I am still fighting to improve our schools, and increase Nevada's share of federal education dollars. With the rapidly growing population in Nevada, we're forced to build a school a month in Clark County, and fill those schools with equipment and teachers.

A quality education is a crucial foundation for our health, safety, and prosperity. Without a quality education, our children will lose their competitive edge around the world, and our country falls behind other markets, which will then be able to offer better wages, better benefits, and greater productivity. If our country is to maintain its leading position in the world, and if our children are going to be given the same opportunities enjoyed by the current generation, it is essential that we provide our children with a first rate education.

Take a moment to look through some of my statements and editorials about education.
