“I sincerely congratulate Congressman Rahm Emanuel on becoming Chief of Staff for President-elect Barack Obama.

“Throughout our time together in the House of Representatives, Rahm consistently listened to the diverse voices of our Caucus and responded to the diverse needs of families across this nation. I was pleased to work alongside Rahm on issues ranging from expanding access to affordable health care to energy security. I admire his leadership skills and vision, and know these will serve him well in his new role.

“I look forward to continuing to work with Rahm to advance our common agenda and provide families across the nation with a more secure future.”
