SENATOR COCHRAN SUPPORTS ELECTRONIC DUCK STAMP ACT OF 1998

Washington, D.C.- U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) has cosponsored the Electronic Duck Stamp Act of 1998, which will authorize electronic issuance and recognition of migratory bird hunting and conservation stamps.

The bill would permit the electronic issuance and recognition of a temporary confirmation number or endorsement representing the federal duck stamp. This would provide sportsmen with the convenience of purchasing all their federal and state hunting licenses in one location. Each electronic stamp will be assigned a unique confirmation number in order to verify the electronic stamp, confirmation number, and sales transaction with the licensee.

Senator Cochran stated, “This bill will provide hunters with a much more convenient way to obtain duck stamps.”
