Dodd Praises Supreme Court Decision on Islander East Appeal

Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) today released the following statement applauding the U.S. Supreme Court’s refusal to hear an appeal regarding the proposed construction of the Islander East natural gas pipeline across the floor of the Long Island Sound: 

 

“I am very pleased that the Supreme Court rejected the appeal brought by Islander East. I have long opposed the company’s proposal to build a natural gas pipeline across the Sound, which could disrupt an important wildlife habitat and threaten one of our region’s greatest natural treasures. The Court’s decision upholds the best interests of the State of Connecticut, and hopefully puts this poor-designed proposal to rest once and for all.”
