Circular Letter No. 609

March 17, 2006

TO: Printing and Publishing Officials of the Federal Government

SUBJECT: Changes in the Cost to Publish in the Federal Register and Code of Federal Regulations

This is to inform you of changes in the page rates charged for publishing in the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations that are effective April 1, 2006. These new rates are necessitated by wage increases in both the administrative and craft areas of the Government Printing Office (GPO). Please note that the rates for the Federal Register prior to this increase were in effect since March 2002. The last significant page rate change for the Code of Federal Regulations was January 1, 1999.

GPO plans to offer submittal of documents via secure e-mail in the early Summer timeframe. As part of its offering, GPO will offer PKI services once it has completed its certification process as a Shared Service Provider (SSP). Pricing and details of these new GPO services will soon be published in a separate letter.

Please ensure that your organization has submitted a Fiscal Year 2006 requisition to GPO to cover your anticipated publishing costs in these publications. If you have any questions regarding the information contained in this Circular Letter, please contact Lorraine Carter, Agency Publishing Services, on 202-512-0341.

Sincerely,

JIM BRADLEY
