I am pleased to sponsor legislation and take actions that will support telecommunications and technology, particularly those that are spearheaded by Idahoans. This is not a comprehensive list of all the legislation I have co-sponsored related to telecommunications and technology. Legislation I have co-sponsored in the 110th Congress:
- S. 1726, a bill to regulate certain State taxation of interstate commerce, and for other purposes. Introduced June 28, 2007.
- S. 1439, a bill to reauthorize the broadband loan and loan guarantee program under title VI of the Rural Electrification Act of 1936. Introduced May 21, 2007.
- S. 1145, a bill to amend title 35, United States Code, to provide for patent reform. Introduced April 18, 2007.
- S. 609, a bill to amend section 254 of the Communications Act of 1934 to provide that funds received as universal service contributions and the universal service support programs established pursuant to that section are not subject to certain provisions of title 31, United States Code, commonly known as the Antideficiency Act. Introduced February 15, 2007.
- S. 170, a bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the excise tax on telephone and other communications services. Introduced January 4, 2007.
- S. 140, a bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the excise tax on telephone and other communications services. Introduced January 4, 2007.
- S.Res. 205, a resolution designating June 2007 as "National Internet Safety Month". Introduced May 16, 2007; passed/agreed to in the Senate on May 16, 2007.
Other actions I have taken to support Idaho telecommunications and technology initiatives include:
- Successfully provided funding for critical Idaho telecommunications and technology projects.
