Fortenberry Helps Introduce Bipartisan Responsible Renewable Energy Tax Credit Act

Washington, DC - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry recently helped introduce the Bipartisan Responsible Renewable Energy Tax Credit Act. The bill would reverse a recent Internal Revenue Service ruling which improperly applied the Renewable Diesel Tax Credit. This legislation will restore congressional intent and apply the tax incentive to biodiesel produced from agricultural resources.

"This is important legislation for producers and the overall agricultural community. The tax incentive was originally designed to promote ag-based biodiesel and this bill will return the credit to that purpose," Fortenberry said.
