DODGE, NE - U.S. Representative Jeff Fortenberry visited renewable energy production sites in eastern Nebraska that feature some of the newest energy technologies. He visited the site of the E3Biofuels Mead ethanol plantwhich when completed will be the worlds first closed loop ethanol facility. In the afternoon, he traveled to OLean Energy, an energy facility near Dodge that converts animal waste into electricity. Afterwards Fortenberry issued the following statement:
These are very exciting projects, Fortenberry said. They use some of the newest technologies to create clean, renewable energy that also is a source of new farm income.
Projects like the E3Biofuels ethanol facility and OLean Energy meet multiple public policy objectives. Ag-based energy production helps reduce our reliance on foreign oil, fosters good stewardship of resources, and creates new farm income. These projects are winners all the way around.
