Fortenberry Helps Achieve Tax Relief U.S. House of Representatives Votes to Prevent Tax Increases

Washington D.C. - U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry supported the Tax Relief Extension Reconciliation Act of 2005 (H.R. 4297). The bill prevents more than $56 billion in tax increases by maintaining current tax rates on a variety of matters that help small companies, teachers, and entrepreneurial businesses. The bill extends these temporary provisions for at least one additional year. Fortenberry issued the following statement on the passage of this savings legislation.

Revenues have increased, more people have jobs, and more families own homes, Fortenberry said. It is important for government to maintain this commitment. These measures provide economic security for Nebraska families.
